history
Deer Park Manor
Deer Park Manor was built from 1953 to 1956 by Sarkes and Mary Tarzian. Sarkes Tarzian invented essential components for color television and was the owner of several radio and television stations, including Channel 4 Television whose Bloomington studio was previously located elsewhere on the property. Both President Richard Nixon and President Dwight Eisenhower were guests here.
The Fitzgerald Family
The Fitzgerald family became the second owners of Deer Park Manor when they purchased the property in 1998. Along with naming the property, they spent several years remodeling and making additions. Almost all the landscaping, including the front driveway, entrance gates, ponds, patios and walkways, was added during this time under the design and supervision of Judith Fitzgerald. The décor for Deer Park Manor has been collected over the past thirty years by the Fitzgerald family.
